Established in 1875, Port Curtis Road State School is a small school situated on the southern outskirts of Rockhampton. We have the distinction of being a town school with a country feel. With a positive school culture, our curriculum and school improvement agenda focus on quality teaching and learning, through high expectations, strong partnerships and shared values. We cater for Prep to Year 6 students in a multi-age setting that is both inclusive and a supportive learning environment for all students. Port Curtis Road has strong community partnerships enabling our daily Breakfast Club to occur.
Our school offers a Guidance Officer and a Speech, Language Pathologist service once per week to cater to our community context. We also offer a weekly playgroup for families of children aged 0-5 years and Porty Pebbles, a group established to enhance transitions into Prep. We utilise the Australian Curriculum to teach the eight curriculum learning areas of English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health and Physical Education, Technologies, The Arts and Languages (Japanese). Learning outcomes are achieved through differentiated lessons taught by our experienced and passionate teachers and teacher aides.
We welcome you to contact our school for a tour.
