Established in 1875, Port Curtis Road State School is a small school of approximately 60 students, on the southern edge of Rockhampton. We are only 2km from the Yeppen Roundabout and only 7km to the heart of Rockhampton. Its size means this school has maintained the atmosphere of a small country school yet has the convenience of being in the city.
Port Curtis Road State School offers a quality curriculum for students from Prep to Year 6 and a family atmosphere where every child and their needs are known to staff and catered for. Our school seeks to create a challenging learning environment that encourages high expectations for student success through rigorous and explicit instruction that caters for individual differences and learning styles. Staff advocate traditional values of good manners and courtesy whilst implementing strong behaviour management strategies to ensure a safe and supportive school environment. Our motto is 'Play the Game', which means we work together as a team and support others to reach their goals or work to their full potential.
At Port Curtis Road State School we have high expectations for all students. We are committed to academic excellence and believe that every child matters every day!
